City paid Chelsea €145m for Argentina international Fernandez on deadline day, making him the club’s most expensive signing and equalling the Premier League transfer record.

A few weeks earlier, City had paid €135m to sign England midfielder Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest, briefly making him the club’s record signing.

The two deals came as City undertook a major midfield rebuild following Rodri’s departure to Barcelona.

1. Enzo Fernandez — €145m

From: Chelsea

Fernandez became Manchester City’s record signing after completing his move from Chelsea in September 2026.
