Isaac Fayose slams Deji Adeyanju, urging him to openly back Tinubu and APC instead of using Peter Obi to score cheap political points

Isaac Fayose slams Deji Adeyanju over his repeated verbal attacks on Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, advising him to boldly declare his support for President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Adeyanju, a controversial activist, has on several occasions branded Obi a “fraud,” “manipulator,” and “religious bigot,” claiming he has evidence to back his accusations. Obi, however, has taken legal action, dragging Adeyanju to court to provide proof of his allegations.

In a viral social media video, Isaac Fayose — younger brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose — accused Adeyanju of using Obi’s name to gain attention while secretly aligning with the Tinubu government.

Speaking partly in Pidgin English, Fayose said:

“My brother Deji Adeyanju want go APC… but you no fit come out openly say, ‘Oh! I don go APC or I’m supporting Tinubu.’ You dey use legbegbe like Reno Omokri. Reno started by fighting Obi and later he just crossed in. Deji dey use the same style.”

Fayose urged Adeyanju to “stop using Obi to score cheap points” and come out clean about his political leanings. He likened Adeyanju’s tactics to those of former presidential aide Reno Omokri, who also gained prominence during the Tinubu administration after attacking Obi.

He further suggested that Adeyanju fears backlash from his political associates like Omoyele Sowore, hence his reluctance to openly join the APC.

“Mr Adeyanju, just enter directly. Stop using Obi. If you’re going to APC, go freely. Leave that man alone. What has he done to you?” Fayose said.

The video has since sparked debate online, with many Nigerians weighing in on the growing rift among political commentators and the perceived targeting of Peter Obi.
