Reno Omokri gives forgiveness praise to President Tinubu after his nomination as ambassador, calling the gesture Christlike

Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has offered warm forgiveness praise to President Bola Tinubu after being named among 32 new ambassador-designates, describing the President as “Christlike” and a leader who taught him the meaning of true reconciliation.

In a statement posted on X on Sunday, Omokri thanked God and President Tinubu for what he called “visionary and exemplary leadership,” pledging to serve his fatherland with renewed dedication.

He said the President had shown him the power of forgiveness, adding that such a gesture reflected an uncommon depth of statesmanship.

According to Omokri, Tinubu had demonstrated a quality he likened to Christlike compassion, stating that Nigeria was fortunate to have a leader capable of unifying people at a challenging moment in the nation’s history.

He expressed hope that the country would enjoy peace, prosperity and stability under Tinubu’s guidance.

Omokri also paid tribute to his parents, Esijolomi and Omerewumi, crediting them for moulding him into the man he is today.

He extended gratitude to the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, whom he praised effusively, calling him a man of extraordinary goodness.

The former aide further thanked his wife, Hana, whom he described as a pillar who supported him through years of political tension sparked by his vocal defence of the President.

President Tinubu’s latest list of ambassadorial nominees, sent to the Senate on Saturday, includes former INEC chairman Mahmud Yakubu, former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode, and former Enugu governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

The presidency noted that the nominees would be deployed to career and non-career diplomatic postings once the Senate completes its screening and confirmation process.

The nominations underscore the administration’s ongoing diplomatic restructuring as Nigeria seeks to strengthen its global engagement.
