Ademola Lookman won’t be leaving Atalanta on loan as the club refuses Bayern Munich’s offer and insists on a permanent deal only

Ademola Lookman is at the center of a tense transfer saga as Italian Serie A side Atalanta has firmly rejected Bayern Munich’s loan bid for the Nigerian star, insisting on a permanent sale instead.

With the summer window for the 2025/26 season closing in hours, Lookman’s future remains uncertain.

The 27-year-old forward has clashed with the club over a delayed move, and after a brief period of going AWOL in protest, he’s been training separately and omitted from the opening two league matches.

Despite receiving a proposal from Bayern Munich that included a loan fee and an option to buy, Atalanta has remained immovable.

“No loan deal. Only a permanent transfer or an obligation to buy,” reported transfer insider Fabrizio Romano.

Lookman’s market value is believed to be around €50 million, but Bayern’s reported €28 million buy option was seen as far below expectations.

Inter Milan’s earlier €42 million plus €3 million bonus offer was also turned down, especially since Atalanta had assured Lookman he could leave — but not to another Italian side.

Sources now suggest Tottenham Hotspur and Galatasaray are monitoring the situation and may be willing to meet Atalanta’s demand for an outright purchase.

Despite the off-field drama, Ademola Lookman remains a valuable asset.

He scored 20 goals and delivered 7 assists last season and was crowned 2024 CAF Player of the Year, underlining his world-class impact.

If no permanent deal is struck before the deadline, Lookman may be forced to stay — a scenario that could fuel further tension between player and club.
