NDLEA Kano arrest has led to the recovery of 8,000 bottles of Akuskura, a herbal mixture suspected to contain dangerous drugs, alongside 48 blocks of Cannabis sativa.

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency confirmed that its operatives apprehended 37-year-old Ali Muhammad during an operation on Zaria-Kano Road.

According to NDLEA spokesperson Sadiq Maigatari, the arrest was made after a trailer loaded with tricycles (Keke Napep) was stopped around Gadar Tamburawa.

Hidden compartments beneath the trailer and between the tricycles revealed the illicit cargo.

“The trailer was fully loaded with tricycles, and the exhibit was concealed between the units and beneath the trailer, where a wooden cover had been constructed to hide the items.

The NDLEA operatives discovered the concealment through their diligence and commitment,” Maigatari said.

The suspect and all seized items are currently in NDLEA custody pending further investigation and laboratory analysis. The agency stated that the tests will confirm the nature of the substances and determine the full scope of the operation.
