Governor Umaru Bago leads Niger APC’s campaign launch for November 1 local government elections, urging massive support across all councils

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State has officially launched its campaign for the local government elections scheduled for November 1, 2025, with a rally held in Minna.

Speaking at the flag-off, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to improving the lives of citizens at both state and local levels.

He called on residents to vote overwhelmingly for APC candidates in all 25 chairmanship and 274 councillorship positions, urging party supporters to ensure a peaceful and decisive victory for the ruling party.

“We must work hard to secure every council. Let us demonstrate our unity, strength, and commitment to the development of Niger State,” Bago said.

The Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Abdulmalik Sarkindaji, who also serves as the Director-General of the APC State Campaign Council, described the forthcoming polls as a litmus test for the party’s popularity and capacity, expressing confidence that the APC would sweep all positions.

Representing the National Chairman, the APC National Vice Chairman (North Central), Mu’azu Bawa Rijau, highlighted the party’s nationwide achievements, urging voters to sustain the momentum by electing APC candidates at the grassroots level.

The State APC Chairman, Alhaji Aminu Musa Bobi, pledged that the party would adhere to all electoral guidelines and respect the outcome of the polls. He also encouraged voters to turn out in large numbers to support the party’s candidates.

Also speaking, the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, called on residents to reciprocate the good works of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Bago by voting massively for the APC, noting that doing so would help sustain the delivery of democratic dividends across Niger State.
