Peter Umeadi resigns from APGA and withdraws from all partisan politics, ending his political journey after contesting the 2023 presidential election

Peter Umeadi quits politics as he formally resigns from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and withdraws from all partisan political activities in Nigeria.

In a letter addressed to the Chairman of APGA Ward 1, Nri, in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, Mr. Onyekwelu Jideobi, Umeadi expressed gratitude to the party for the opportunity to represent it in the 2023 presidential election.

“I respectfully write to resign from my membership of Nri Ward 1, All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA. By the same token, I withdraw from all partisan politics in Nigeria,” the letter partly read.

Umeadi holds the distinction of being the first jurist and law academic to emerge as a presidential candidate of a major political party in Nigeria.

His campaign was anchored on the principles of rule of law, separation of powers, and due process, aiming for social progress and equitable opportunity for all Nigerians.

He joined APGA on March 20, 2019, at Nri Ward 1 and secured the party’s presidential ticket on June 1, 2022, marking a notable milestone in Nigerian political history.

With this resignation, Umeadi officially ends his journey in partisan politics, leaving behind a legacy of legal-minded advocacy and principled political engagement.
