Dikko Radda reshuffles cabinet in Katsina, redeploying key commissioners and appointing new advisers to improve service delivery and governance

The Katsina State Governor announced the major shake-up on Friday through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohamed.

The reshuffle, which takes immediate effect, saw several commissioners redeployed and two new special advisers appointed as part of what the governor described as a strategic effort to energise his administration and deepen sectoral performance.

According to the statement, Adnan Nahabu is now the Commissioner for Higher, Vocational and Technical Education, while Prof Ahmad Muhammad Bakori has been moved from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development to lead the newly created Ministry of Livestock Development.

Other key redeployments include Aliyu Lawal Zakari, who now heads the Ministry of Agriculture after leaving the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.

Zainab Musa Musawa has been reassigned to the Ministry of Special Duties, while Yusuf Suleiman Jibia becomes the new Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education.

Engr Surajo Yazid Abukur will now oversee the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, and Aisha Aminu, formerly Director-General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency, has been appointed Commissioner for Women Affairs.

In addition, Governor Radda appointed Hadiza Abubakar Yar’adua as Special Adviser on Nutrition and Welfare Services and Isa Muhammad Musa as Special Adviser on Cultural Orientation.

The governor urged all newly appointed and redeployed officials to align with his administration’s Building Your Future agenda, stressing the need for accountability, innovation, and a strong focus on citizen-centred governance.

Governor Radda expressed confidence that the cabinet changes would improve coordination, deepen expertise across key sectors, and accelerate the delivery of vital programmes in education, agriculture, youth development, women’s empowerment, social welfare, and economic growth.
