The campaign, one of the most robust anti-fraud initiatives in the industry, runs under the theme “Combating Fraud Risk and Cyber Theft in Digital Banking.”

It highlights the evolving nature of threats, including phishing, account takeovers, card skimming, ransomware, and social engineering.

UBA stressed that fraud prevention is a shared responsibility across all staff. Employees are urged to stay alert, adhere to controls, verify information, report suspicious activity, and act quickly to mitigate risks.

“Fraud harms more than finances. It affects our reputation, customer trust, staff morale, and sensitive data,” the bank stated.

The bank has also deployed Anti-Fraud Ambassadors and is conducting group-wide clinics and training sessions to raise awareness and prepare employees and customers for emerging threats.

UBA’s whistle-blowing policy encourages reporting of unprofessional behaviour and suspected fraud, reinforcing a culture of accountability and transparency.
