Samsung unveils the Galaxy Z TriFold, its first triple-fold smartphone, with a 10-inch display, AI features, and $2,443 price tag

Samsung Electronics unveiled its first triple-folding smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold, at a store in Seoul on Tuesday, with availability set for 12th December at $2,443.

The high-end device, aimed at tech enthusiasts rather than regular consumers, unfolds into a 10-inch display for enhanced productivity, creativity, and multitasking.

Despite its large screen, the Galaxy Z TriFold is thin, weighing 309 grams, with its slimmest point measuring under 0.2 inches, and is available exclusively in black.

Samsung described the device as a “special edition,” noting that it is not intended for mass-market sales, highlighting the company’s focus on innovation amid slowing global smartphone growth.

The Galaxy Z TriFold includes built-in generative AI features, allowing real-time assistance via screen sharing and camera functions.

The launch comes as Apple is projected to overtake Samsung as the world’s top smartphone maker in 2025, according to research firm Counterpoint.

Apple is forecasted to reach 19.4% market share, slightly ahead of Samsung’s 18.7%.

Although Samsung calls it its first triple-fold phone, Chinese manufacturer Huawei released a similar device last year at a comparable price.

Analysts suggest Samsung’s move aims to differentiate its offerings and appeal to early adopters willing to invest in premium, cutting-edge technology.
