RCCG Youth Province 1 spent N40m on a free bus-to-work initiative, easing transportation costs for Lagos commuters and providing spiritual guidance

The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Youth Province 1, in partnership with other youth provinces across Lagos, spent N40 million on a free-bus-to-work initiative, providing morning and evening transportation for commuters across the state, the church confirmed on Friday, December 5, 2025.

The initiative, which ran from November 24 to December 5, covered key routes including RCCG Jesus Palace (Festac) to CMS, Oworonshoki to CMS, Redemption City to 7UP, Redemption City to Sagamu, Redemption City to Trinity Towers in Victoria Island, Redemption City to Agege, and Ikorodu to Maryland. Return trips were offered free in the evenings.

Pastor Oluwagbemileke Adeboye, Pastor-in-Charge of Youth Province 1, said the programme, now in its second year, was introduced to ease the rising cost of living and the daily transport burden on Lagos residents.

“This initiative is our way of lending a hand to people. We did it last year and witnessed the massive relief it provided, so we decided to do it again in collaboration with Youth Provinces 2, 7, 14, 18 and 20,” he explained.

The programme deployed about 10 long yellow buses, ferrying hundreds of commuters daily, while also offering spiritual guidance and prayers as participants began or ended their workday.

Pastor Martins Olusakin, Assistant Pastor-in-Charge of Province (CSR), and Pastor Abiodun Famojuro, Assistant Pastor-in-Charge of Province (Administration), also assisted in coordinating the initiative.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the free service, with many sharing positive experiences on social media.

Adeboye added that the province is preparing for the upcoming RCCG Holy Ghost Congress in the second week of December, signalling the church’s continued engagement with community welfare.
