The unveiling ceremony, held in the presence of senior state officials and union leaders, marked the formal opening of the newly constructed transport hub designed to modernise operations within the busy Oyingbo corridor.

Among dignitaries at the event were the Lagos NURTW Chairman, Mustapha Sego; His Royal Highness Rilwan Aremu Akiolu, the Oba of Lagos; Tayo Ayinde, Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor; the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi; and Special Adviser to the Governor, Sola Giwa.

The Bola Tinubu Modern Garage adds to a growing list of public infrastructure across Nigeria bearing the President’s name since he assumed office on May 29, 2023.

Other facilities include the Bola Tinubu Building at the National Assembly, the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Technology Innovation Complex, Bola Ahmed Tinubu Polytechnic in Gwarinpa, the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Barracks in Abuja, and the Bola Ahmed Tinubu NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Adamawa State.

The increasing number of public landmarks named after the President has generated debate among citizens and political commentators, with discussions centring on symbolism, legacy, and the timing of such recognitions.
