Speaking at the flag-off ceremony for cheque distribution to 189 affected households along Rigasa township roads, Governor Sani emphasized that no project would use the guise of “overriding public interest” to infringe on private property.

The Governor highlighted ongoing road projects including Makera Road, Lokoja Road, Ado Gwaram Road, and Asmau Makarfi Spur stating that while construction progressed steadily, some homes and businesses lay within the designated right-of-way.

To address this, construction was temporarily slowed to allow transparent assessment and equitable compensation for affected properties.

Since taking office on May 29, 2023, Sani’s administration has prioritized justice and empathy, disbursing compensation across Kaduna State, including Mahuta, Magajiya to Albarkawa, Audi to Kako, Dogon Bauchi to Kakiyeyi, and Kabala Costain corridors.

In total, approximately N2.85 billion has been paid to affected households.

Governor Sani clarified that these payments are not charity, but a fulfillment of justice, allowing citizens to relocate, rebuild, or reorganize their lives with dignity.
