Kaduna governor names entertainment entrepreneur Chief Strategic Adviser and reshuffles university and agency governing boards

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has approved a fresh round of appointments into key government positions and reconstituted the governing council of Kaduna State University (KASU) alongside the boards of five state-owned institutions as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve public service delivery.

The Uba Sani appointments include the selection of entertainment entrepreneur and lawyer Audu Maikori as Chief Strategic Adviser on Inter-Governmental Affairs, while Umar Uba Maicitta was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Community Relations and Aminu Mohammed Gusau was named Senior Special Assistant on Policy Communications.

The appointments were announced in a statement issued on Monday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibraheem Musa, who said the move is intended to inject fresh expertise into the administration and accelerate the implementation of its development agenda.

“As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance, inject fresh energy into public service and accelerate the administration’s transformative agenda, Governor Uba Sani has approved the following appointments,” the statement read.

Governor Sani also reconstituted the Kaduna State University Governing Council, appointing Dr Ibrahim Umar as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman.

Other members of the council are Dr Ibrahim Hamidu, representing Zone 1; Malam Adamu Aliyu Shika, representing Zone 2; Mrs Ladi Barnabas Bala Bantex, representing Zone 3; and Alhaji Adamu Attah, representing the organised private sector.

The governor equally approved the reconstitution of the Kaduna Mining Development Company Management Board, naming Lawal Umar Meyere as chairman. Hon. Addau Ahmed, Hon. Kabiru Tsoho Yakawada and Yohanna Allah Magani Christopher will represent Zones 1, 2 and 3, respectively.

For the Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority Management Board, Tanko Kokwain was appointed chairman, with Thomas Samuel Amale, Esther Ayuba Anthony and Mustapha Ahmed representing the state’s three senatorial zones.

The Kaduna State Livestock Regulatory Agency Board will be chaired by David Umar Gurara, while Bello Nuhu Yakubu, Hon. Hassan Adamu Shekarau and Mrs Hannatu Sambo were appointed to represent Zones 1, 2 and 3.

Governor Sani also appointed Yakubu El Saad Lere as chairman of the Kaduna State Media Corporation Board. Other members include Zubairu Balarabe Saminu, Binta Saidu and Habila Abel Adamu, representing the state’s three senatorial zones.

According to the governor, the appointments were guided by merit, competence and a commitment to advancing Kaduna State’s development priorities.

“The new appointees are seasoned professionals and resourceful leaders carefully selected based on their proven track records, competence and unwavering dedication to the socio-economic development of Kaduna State,” the statement said.

Congratulating the new appointees, Governor Sani urged them to treat their appointments as a responsibility to serve the public with integrity and efficiency.

“While congratulating the new appointees, Governor Uba Sani also challenged them to view their appointments as a call to duty.

He urged them to hit the ground running by executing their duties with utmost diligence, transparency and strict adherence to ethical conduct to ensure the rapid delivery of democratic dividends to the good people of Kaduna State,” the statement added.

The appointments form part of the Kaduna State Government’s broader efforts to strengthen institutional leadership and improve governance across strategic sectors, including education, mining, agriculture, media and public administration, as the administration pursues its socio-economic development agenda.
