Wikki Tourists defeat Shooting Stars 3-2 sees coach Evans Ogenyi praise players while pledging to fix weaknesses ahead of next game

Wikki Tourists technical adviser, Evans Ogenyi, has commended his players for their performance despite their 3-2 defeat to Shooting Stars at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan on Sunday.

Shooting Stars took the lead through goals from Sadiq Ibrahim, Lucky Emmanuel, and Tijani Alameen, while Wikki Tourists’ Abba Musa and John Taiwo responded with two goals of their own.

Ogenyi acknowledged both the positives and negatives of the game and promised to address the lapses ahead of future matches.

“My boys played well, but the early and late goals were demoralising,” Ogenyi told Wikki Tourists media.

“We have seen the good and bad sides of the game and we will work on especially the bad side to improve in those areas before our next game.”

Following the defeat, Wikki Tourists dropped into the relegation zone, occupying 17th position on the league table with 35 points.

The technical adviser stressed the importance of learning from the match as the team prepares for the remainder of the season.
