Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher claims Mohamed Salah surpasses Cristiano Ronaldo in Premier League legacy, ranking only behind Thierry Henry among overseas stars

Jamie Carragher has declared that departing Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo in Premier League legacy.

Writing for The Telegraph, Carragher ranked Salah only behind Arsenal legend Thierry Henry among the league’s greatest overseas attackers.

Carragher dismissed comparisons with Ronaldo, Eden Hazard, Gianfranco Zola, Dennis Bergkamp, and Eric Cantona, arguing none matched Salah’s sustained dominance in England.

“Ronaldo’s time at Manchester United, both initially and upon his return, was either side of his absolute, Real Madrid-peak years,” Carragher wrote. “Salah edges ahead of him when judging strictly on Premier League performance and impact.”

Since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2017 for £34 million, Salah has scored 189 goals and provided 92 assists—more than any other player in the league over the same period, cementing his status as one of the Premier League’s most influential overseas talents.
