Maduka Okoye names Dida as his idol and ranks top goalkeepers, including Ter Stegen, Courtois and Donnarumma

Maduka Okoye, Super Eagles goalkeeper, has revealed that former AC Milan star Dida remains his football idol, while also naming his current top three goalkeepers in world football.

Speaking in an interview, Okoye praised Dida’s qualities, highlighting his speed and commanding presence on the pitch.

He noted that although he has not met the Brazilian legend in person, he has interacted with him through conversations.

Okoye also acknowledged David de Gea as a “legend” and a “monster,” reflecting his admiration for experienced goalkeepers who have performed consistently at the highest level.

Ranking the best goalkeepers currently, Okoye listed Marc-André ter Stegen of FC Barcelona, Thibaut Courtois of Real Madrid, and Gianluigi Donnarumma of Manchester City, describing Donnarumma as the best at the moment.

The revelation offers insight into Okoye’s influences and professional outlook as he continues to develop his career at both club and international levels.

Okoye is currently in camp with the Super Eagles, preparing for an international friendly against Iran national football team scheduled to take place in Turkey later on Friday.
