Speaking in an interview with The Athletic, Ancelotti said he would be pleased to see Mourinho back at the Santiago Bernabéu, praising the veteran coach’s experience and ability to manage pressure at elite clubs.

According to Ancelotti, Mourinho possesses the commanding qualities required to handle top players and compete consistently for major honours.

“He is a coach with great experience who knows how to manage big teams and difficult situations,” Ancelotti reportedly said while discussing the growing speculation surrounding the Mourinho Real Madrid return.

The Italian manager noted that Mourinho has repeatedly demonstrated his winning mentality throughout his coaching career and remains capable of delivering results at the highest level of European football.

Reports linking Mourinho with a return to Madrid have intensified amid suggestions that the Portuguese coach could leave Benfica at the end of the season.

Mourinho previously managed Real Madrid between 2010 and 2013, overseeing a fiercely competitive side that challenged Barcelona during one of the most intense periods in Spanish football.

Although Mourinho did not win the UEFA Champions League during his time in Madrid, he helped build a resilient squad that later achieved major European success.

Ancelotti eventually replaced Mourinho in 2013 and guided Real Madrid to “La Décima”, the club’s long-awaited 10th UEFA Champions League title.

Despite succeeding him at the Bernabéu, Ancelotti spoke warmly about Mourinho and highlighted the respect he still commands within football.
