Manchester United target Victor Osimhen as the Galatasaray striker tops the club’s shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window

Manchester United have identified Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen as one of their leading transfer targets for the summer window, with reports suggesting the Nigerian international is regarded internally as a dream signing capable of transforming the club’s attack.

According to Caught Offside, the Premier League giants are prioritising reinforcements in midfield, left-back and wide attacking areas, but are also assessing options at centre-forward amid uncertainty over the long-term future of Joshua Zirkzee.

The Manchester United Target Victor Osimhen pursuit comes after the 27-year-old enjoyed another prolific campaign with Galatasaray, further cementing his reputation as one of Europe’s most feared strikers.

Osimhen has scored 59 goals in 74 appearances since joining the Turkish champions from Napoli and has played a pivotal role in securing consecutive Süper Lig titles for the Istanbul club.

The Nigerian forward’s exceptional form has attracted attention from several leading European clubs, with Manchester United now reportedly considering a move despite the financial challenges involved.

While United continue to view Benjamin Sesko as a key part of their future plans and remain committed to the Slovenian striker’s development, club officials are believed to see Osimhen as a player who could elevate the squad immediately.

Rather than replacing Sesko, the Nigerian is reportedly viewed as a powerful addition who could provide healthy competition while offering valuable experience to the younger forward.

Reports indicate that Galatasaray would seek a fee of at least €100m for Osimhen, reflecting both his importance to the team and the substantial investment made to secure his services permanently.

Such a valuation could complicate negotiations, although Manchester United’s return to the UEFA Champions League is expected to strengthen their ability to compete for elite talent during the transfer market.

Interest in the striker extends beyond England. Osimhen’s growing stature in European football was highlighted this week when Fenerbahçe executive Mahmut Uslu openly acknowledged the widespread admiration for the player.

“Who wouldn’t want a player like Osimhen? But he won’t come to us. His destinations are clear,” Uslu told HT Spor.

The comment underlined the reality that the Nigerian international is viewed as a premium target for several top clubs across Europe.

Osimhen remains under contract with Galatasaray until June 2029, leaving the Turkish champions in a strong negotiating position as speculation over his future continues to intensify.
