Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on Friday, June 19, 2026, stating simply: “Deal in place… Hijack accomplished.”

Caicedo had initially agreed terms with Royal Antwerp in December 2025 and was expected to complete the move in July.

However, Inter Miami’s intervention has now secured the talented teenager for the David Beckham-owned club.

The young defender has shown impressive progression in recent months.

After representing Ecuador across the under-15, under-17 and under-20 levels, he was invited into senior team training in May 2025.

In May 2026, he earned his first call-up to the full national squad for a training camp in the United States ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Caicedo made his international debut on 30 May 2026, coming on as a late substitute for Pervis Estupiñán in Ecuador’s 2–1 friendly victory over Saudi Arabia.

This signing represents another strategic move by Inter Miami to build for the future while maintaining their competitive edge in MLS.

At just 17 years old, Caicedo joins a growing list of young talents being attracted to the league’s rising profile.
