The £18.2 million deal, which includes performance-based add-ons, will see Lammens sign a five-year contract with the Red Devils.

The Belgian shot-stopper is expected in Manchester shortly to undergo his medical and finalize personal terms.

United had previously explored a move for Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez, but ultimately decided that Lammens offered the ideal long-term solution between the posts.

“United see Lammens as a top prospect with strong distribution and shot-stopping skills,” a club source confirmed.

Lammens joins a goalkeeping department that has been under scrutiny in recent seasons, and his arrival is expected to bring both depth and competition to the squad under manager Ruben Amorim.

The Belgian international made a name for himself in the Jupiler Pro League, showcasing maturity and commanding presence at a young age.
