Michael Carrick hails Harry Amass, Patrick Dorgu and Shea Lacey after Manchester United’s 4-0 UEFA Champions League win over Sabah at Old Trafford

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick praised three of his players after the team’s emphatic 4-0 victory over Sabah in the UEFA Champions League at Old Trafford on Thursday 10 September 2026.

Goals from Matheus Cunha, Bruno Fernandes, Benjamin Sesko and Lisandro Martínez secured a comfortable win for the hosts.

In his post-match comments Carrick singled out Harry Amass, Patrick Dorgu and Shea Lacey for particular credit. He expressed satisfaction at being able to involve the younger members of the squad as the match progressed.

“Delighted with being able to get Harry on the pitch — and Shea. It’s something we were focused on as the game developed,” Carrick said. “It’s important to get the younger boys on the pitch for this football club, so I’m pleased with both of them. I thought Pat [Dorgu] played ever so well; he was a big threat down that side of the pitch for us tonight, so I was pleased with Pat.”

The result leaves Manchester United in positive spirits ahead of their next fixture, a Premier League derby against Manchester City on Sunday.
