João Pedro scored after 31 seconds against Fulham at Stamford Bridge and later added a goal and an assist against former club Brighton and Hove Albion.

Last season the Brazilian was voted Chelsea’s Player of the Season after scoring 20 goals in all competitions following his summer 2025 move from Brighton.

That campaign ended with disappointment when he was omitted from Brazil’s World Cup squad, yet the new term has begun with renewed purpose.

Cole Palmer was also shortlisted after two goals and an assist of his own, underlining the early chemistry in Chelsea’s attack

. Other nominees included Bruno Fernandes, who scored a hat-trick for Manchester United, and Arsenal defender Riccardo Calafiori.
