Femi Azeez Brighton debut could come against Coventry City on Sunday after a minor hamstring issue delayed his first game since the Millwall transfer

On Friday 11 September 2026, Brighton and Hove Albion head coach Fabian Hurzeler said Nigeria forward Oluwafemi Javier Azeez, known as Femi Azeez, could be available for his Femi Azeez Brighton debut against Coventry City at the CBS Arena on Sunday 13 September 2026.

Oluwafemi Javier Azeez, 25, joined the Seagulls from Millwall on transfer deadline day and signed through to 2030. He has not yet appeared because of a minor hamstring injury.

He was born in Westminster to a Nigerian father and Spanish mother, came through Watford and Northwood, then played for Reading and Millwall before the Premier League move.

“Also regarding him, I hope he will be an option. He will definitely train today with the squad and hopefully everything is fine and then he hopefully is an option for the weekend,” Fabian Hurzeler said.

That is not a promise of a start. It is a fitness update. Brighton have one win from three Premier League matches this season.

Coventry are the next test. If selected, Oluwafemi Javier Azeez would add pace on the right of the attack after Championship form that included a strong spell at Millwall.
