The Spanish manager made the comments after the encounter at Craven Cottage in September, during which Manchester United scored a late equaliser.

According to reports, Arbeloa admitted the charge brought against him by the FA. He was also issued a warning over his post-match remarks.

The governing body said the Fulham manager had “acted in an improper manner by making comments in a post-match interview that imply bias and/or question the integrity of a match official”.

The controversial comments followed a frustrating result for Fulham, who conceded an 89th-minute equaliser against Manchester United.

Matheus Cunha scored the late goal for the visitors, ensuring the match ended 1-1 at Craven Cottage.

Arbeloa’s subsequent remarks about the officiating prompted disciplinary action from the FA, which considered the comments improper because they suggested bias among match officials.

By admitting the charge, the Fulham manager accepted the disciplinary allegation against him and received the £25,000 fine alongside the warning.

The disciplinary action comes as Fulham face a difficult start to their Premier League campaign.

At the time of the report, the London club were bottom of the table with just two points from their opening six matches.

Arbeloa will now have to focus on improving the team’s results as Fulham seek to move away from the relegation zone.

The fine also serves as a reminder of the FA’s disciplinary approach to managers whose public comments are deemed to question the integrity or impartiality of match officials.
