The Nigerian international reached the landmark on Thursday night after scoring twice and providing an assist in Bursaspor’s emphatic 3-0 victory over Muğlaspor at Muğla Atatürk Stadyumu.

The match initially remained goalless, with Iheanacho having a 48th-minute header ruled out for offside following a goalmouth scramble.

The former Manchester City and Leicester City forward eventually broke the deadlock in the 58th minute, converting a pass from Halil Akbunar.

Iheanacho doubled Bursaspor’s advantage in the 73rd minute with a left-footed effort from inside the penalty area.

He then turned provider for the third goal in the 83rd minute, setting up Hüseyin Maldar to complete the 3-0 victory.

According to Turkish newspaper Hürriyet, Iheanacho’s 10-match scoring streak has surpassed a record previously shared by Turkish football legends Metin Oktay and Saffet Sancaklı.

Oktay scored in nine consecutive Süper Lig matches for Galatasaray during the 1962–63 season, while Sancaklı matched the feat with Kocaelispor in the 1995–96 campaign.

Iheanacho had already established a new Bursaspor record before Thursday’s match by scoring in nine consecutive games.

That run surpassed Fernandao’s previous club record of eight successive matches during the 2014–15 season.

The Nigerian has now scored 14 goals and registered three assists in 10 appearances for Bursaspor this season.
