A young man was killed and a 15-year-old girl injured in separate motorcycle accidents in Ndiolumbe autonomous community, Isiala Ngwa LGA, Abia State

Tragedy struck Ndiolumbe autonomous community in Isiala Ngwa Local Government Area on Sunday when two separate road accidents claimed the life of a young man and left a teenager injured.

The first incident occurred around 8:00 a.m. along Akpuruta on Ururuka Road, when a Toyota Camry, reportedly travelling at high speed, collided with the victim’s motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a man in his late 20s and the only son of his parents, died instantly from the impact. A nearby shop was also destroyed in the crash.

Eyewitnesses identified the Camry driver by his nickname, “Star Boy,” claiming he had been involved in multiple accidents previously and had purchased the car just the day before.

Security personnel from Omobo Police Division took the driver into custody to prevent mob violence at the scene.

In a separate but related incident, 15-year-old Amarachi Chidiebere sustained abdominal injuries when a tipper truck collided with her motorcycle at Ahia Orie Market.

The accident reportedly occurred as the driver tried to avoid an elderly woman crossing the road. Amarachi underwent successful abdominal surgery at Abia State University Teaching Hospital and is currently recuperating.

Attempts to reach the Abia State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ngozi Ezeoma, for comment were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
