The initiative is being driven by the International Committee of AFRIMA in partnership with the African Union Commission following the successful hosting of the 9th edition in Lagos.

According to a statement, the team previously held a Media and Stakeholders’ Parley in Dar es Salaam, where artistes including Juma Jux and Folex, alongside industry executives and government officials, assessed the awards’ impact and explored deeper continental collaboration.

The next stop is Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, where the International Committee will host another high level Media and Stakeholders’ Parley on February 17, 2026, aimed at consolidating engagement ahead of the milestone edition.

Among those expected are 9th AFRIMA winners from Côte d’Ivoire, including Didi B, Milo, Team Paiya and Morijah, as well as Algerian DJ DJ Moh Green.

Organisers said the winners and stakeholders will share experiences on the value of the awards platform and encourage stronger support for African cultural institutions that promote the continent’s creative identity.

A member of the AFRIMA International Jury, Guy Neza, described the Abidjan parley as a strategic build up to the 10th edition and a deliberate effort to strengthen ties with governments and industry players across Francophone West Africa and beyond.

Guy Neza said the forum would also enlighten stakeholders on the transparent process through which winners emerge, from submissions and jury nominations to voting by the Academy of Voters and fans.
