The protest followed the alleged abduction of several children on Monday, including the child of a prominent community leader.

Angered by the incident, demonstrators stormed the palace of the Osuvie of Agbarho Kingdom and the local police station, vowing not to back down until the missing children are found.

According to residents, dozens of children have gone missing or been abducted over the past year. The protesters accused security agencies of indifference and called on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the State Police Command to intervene decisively.

Speaking to journalists, protester Aghogho Imoni said, “Some children, including a child of one of the community leaders, were reported missing after they left for school on Monday.” She lamented that many of the missing children remain unaccounted for.

Another protester, Princess Akpo, described the situation as intolerable, saying parents now live in constant fear. “Children are abducted in the community virtually on a weekly basis,” she alleged.

The Osuvie of Agbarho Kingdom, His Majesty Sampson Ogugu I, had earlier raised concerns about rising insecurity in the area, even calling for the removal of the Divisional Police Officer four months ago.
