Kano Pillars forward Ahmed Musa has praised his teammates for their resilience and determination after the club secured their Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, status despite a final day defeat to Plateau United at the New Jos Stadium.

The Sai Masu Gida suffered a narrow 1-0 loss on Sunday but ultimately retained their top-flight status, finishing the season in 15th position with 48 points from 38 matches.

Ahmed Musa’s praise followed a difficult campaign that stretched Kano Pillars’ consistency and character throughout the season.

In a post-season message, Musa acknowledged the team’s slow start to the season but insisted that their collective effort and fighting spirit ensured they remained in the NPFL for another year.

“Despite our slow and unfamiliar start to the campaign, our darling club, Kano Pillars FC, showed resilience, character and determination to retain its NPFL status for another season,” Musa said.

He also expressed gratitude to supporters and stakeholders across Kano State, noting that their encouragement, prayers and unwavering backing played a crucial role in motivating the team through challenging periods.

Musa added that the club’s survival would not have been possible without the unity shown by players, officials and fans throughout the season.
