Sevilla striker Akor Adams has expressed regret that Nigeria did not win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) held in Morocco, despite the Super Eagles securing a bronze medal.

Adams played a pivotal role throughout the tournament, scoring two goals and providing two assists in seven appearances.

Nigeria defeated Egypt on penalties in the third-place playoff to claim the bronze.

“I think my confidence was already good. But playing in the Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria was a great privilege, something I am very grateful for,” Adams told Marca, as quoted by Estadio Deportivo.

The striker added: “I was able to play every match and experience the whole thing. It’s a shame we could not win the tournament, but it was a very important step in my career.”
