The All Progressives Congress (APC) is in deep mourning following the tragic murder of its Director of Administration, Abdul Adeniji, who was abducted last month.

The party has announced the immediate closure of its National Headquarters in Abuja until Monday, April 14, 2025, in honor of the late director.

The devastating news was conveyed through an internal memo issued by the party’s Deputy Director of Administration, Ubagha Abel, on Thursday.

The memo urged all secretariat staff to use the mourning period for sober reflection and to pray for Adeniji’s family and loved ones.

“The National Secretary has approved the closure of the National Secretariat from all Party/work activities with immediate effect till Monday 14th of April 2025,” the memo stated.

“This decision was made after he had received the news of the sad demise of the Director of Administration Late Hon. AbdulRaif Adekunle Adeniji. PhD.”

The APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, further confirmed the closure and provided details about the late Adeniji’s life and contributions.

“The All Progressives Congress (APC) mourns the tragic death of the Director of Administration of its National Secretariat, Hon. Raif Adekunle Adeniji, PhD,” Morka said.

Adeniji, who hailed from Ife Central Local Government Area of Osun State, was born on September 20, 1959. He was a former Assistant Registrar at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, and later served as Chairman of Ife Local Government Council on the APC platform.

“With a Ph.D in Public Administration, a deep understanding of the complexities of public administration, proven leadership abilities, and unwavering commitment to public service, Adeniji was appointed as Director of Administration of the Party’s National Secretariat,” Morka added.

The party described Adeniji as a grassroots politician and a tireless mobilizer who played a crucial role in their electoral successes in Osun State and at the national level.

“Dr. Adeniji will be remembered for his personable qualities, optimistic outlook and pragmatic attitude to work,” Morka stated.

A condolence register will be opened at the National Secretariat in his honor. The APC has extended its deepest condolences to his family, staff, and the people of Osun State.
