APC Tinubu endorsement affirms party support while keeping primaries open for challengers ahead of the 2027 presidential election

APC Tinubu endorsement by the party leadership has generated discussions as the All Progressives Congress confirmed that its doors remain open for other aspirants ahead of the 2027 presidential primaries.

Speaking on Wednesday at the party’s national secretariat, National Organising Secretary Suleiman Argungu emphasized that party stalwarts may challenge President Bola Tinubu if they choose.

“The aspiration of the people will be the wish of the party,” Argungu said. “The NWC has endorsed President Tinubu as our next presidential candidate, but that does not mean the door is closed. Members are free to exercise their franchise.”

Argungu highlighted Tinubu’s performance in office, stating he deserved a second term for his dedication to governance, economic policies, and national development.

He also noted broad support for Tinubu from the Sen. Hope Uzodinma-led Progressives Governors Forum, the National Assembly leadership, and state governments.

Celebrating the APC’s recent by-election victories, Argungu explained that the party secured 13 of the 16 contested seats, signaling Nigerians’ confidence in the APC’s leadership and governance.

“These victories are not just statistics; they show the strength, resilience, and growing acceptance of our party nationwide,” Argungu added. “They reflect Nigerians’ belief in our capacity to deliver purposeful leadership and good governance.”

The party reiterated that while Tinubu enjoys strong backing, the democratic process remains open for any aspirant willing to challenge him during the primaries.
