Arewa Youths 2027 warning as group urges presidential aspirants to prioritise Northern development and reject vote-buying tactics

The Arewa Youths 2027 warning was delivered on Tuesday by the group’s president, Abdul Danbature, who insisted that Northern youths remain a decisive force in determining Nigeria’s next president.

Danbature stated that young people in the region would no longer be swayed by material gifts such as food items during elections, declaring that voters are increasingly focused on meaningful development and long-term empowerment.

According to him, Northern youths intend to mobilise massively to support candidates who demonstrate clear commitment to addressing structural challenges affecting the region.

He stressed that issues such as the dredging of River Niger and River Benue, as well as the establishment of a seaport in Northern Nigeria, must be prioritised by any aspirant seeking electoral support from the region.

Danbature argued that such infrastructure projects were critical to addressing unemployment and improving economic opportunities for young people across the North.

The youth leader further maintained that the region should not be taken for granted by political actors, warning that the era of symbolic campaign gestures without tangible development commitments was over.

He said Northern youths would carefully assess presidential hopefuls based on their policy direction and willingness to deliver sustainable economic solutions.
