Arsenal Champions League prediction as Opta SuperComputer backs Arsenal to win the trophy ahead of Bayern Munich, Barcelona and PSG

Arsenal Football Club have been tipped as favourites to win the UEFA Champions League this season after statistical model Opta’s SuperComputer projected Mikel Arteta’s side as the most likely champions ahead of the quarter-final stage.

The Premier League side, managed by Mikel Arteta, currently hold a 29.95 per cent probability of lifting their first-ever Champions League trophy after eliminating Bayer Leverkusen in the Round of 16.

Arsenal are set to face Sporting in the quarter-finals as expectations continue to build around their strongest European campaign in years.

German giants Bayern Munich follow with an 18.02 per cent chance after a dominant 10-2 aggregate win over Atalanta, while Barcelona sit third in the rankings with a 14.74 per cent probability following their emphatic victory over Newcastle United.

Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain have been given a 12.15 per cent chance of retaining the trophy, with Real Madrid trailing slightly behind on 10.18 per cent according to the model.

The projections highlight a highly competitive knockout stage, with all remaining clubs separated by relatively narrow margins, suggesting an open race for European supremacy.
