Arsenal Liverpool draw sees Gunners held 0-0 at Emirates Stadium as Liverpool miss key attackers in Premier League clash

Arsenal were held to a goalless draw by Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, missing the chance to extend their Premier League lead to eight points.

Liverpool, one of only two sides to defeat Mikel Arteta’s men this season, came closest to scoring when Conor Bradley’s lob struck the crossbar.

The Reds’ attacking threats were limited by injuries to Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike, and the absence of Mohamed Salah at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Arsenal failed to score at home for the first time this season but retained a six-point advantage over second-placed Manchester City.

The Gunners’ title challenge remains on course despite the stalemate, while Liverpool consolidated their top-four position with a 10-game unbeaten run.

Storm Goretti brought torrential rain and swirling winds to the Emirates, making conditions difficult for both sides.

Arsenal dominated early possession, but Liverpool created the most dangerous moment of the first half.

Liverpool controlled much of the second half, but Jeremie Frimpong’s pace was the only real threat on the counter.

Arsenal relied on substitutes Gabriel Jesus, Noni Madueke, Eberechi Eze, and Gabriel Martinelli to spark an attack, yet failed to register a shot on target until stoppage time.

Jesus and Martinelli fired too close to Alisson Becker.

Viktor Gyokeres continued his goal drought from open play, extending it to 10 games after being substituted by Arteta.

Dominik Szoboszlai nearly repeated a previous free-kick heroics but saw his strike dip just wide.
