Aston Villa booked their place in the final after a commanding 4-1 aggregate victory over Nottingham Forest in the semi-finals and arrive in confident form following a 4-2 Premier League win over Liverpool.

The Birmingham-based club currently sits fourth in the Premier League table, underlining their strong domestic campaign as they chase European success.

SC Freiburg, meanwhile, enter the final in what is the biggest match in their history after defeating Braga 4-3 on aggregate in the semi-finals. The German side followed that achievement with a dominant 4-1 Bundesliga win over RB Leipzig, boosting their confidence ahead of the showdown.

Freiburg currently occupy seventh place in the Bundesliga table and will be determined to cap their breakthrough season with an unforgettable European title.

Speaking ahead of the final, football analyst Saheed Afolabi of Clear TV predicted a Villa victory, citing their squad depth and recent form, including their statement win over Liverpool.

He described the match as a high-level contest but suggested Aston Villa’s experience and momentum could prove decisive in Istanbul.
