Chelsea doubled their advantage midway through the second half through Andrey Santos, who finished clinically to put the home side in a strong position.

Tottenham Hotspur responded in the 74th minute when Richarlison converted from close range following a clever backheel from Pape Matar Sarr, reigniting hopes of a comeback.

Despite sustained pressure in the closing stages, Tottenham were unable to find an equaliser as Chelsea held firm to secure all three points in a tense finish.
