Speaking on ongoing discussions around marital controversies and public reactions to relationship issues, AY said society has become too quick to take sides without fully understanding what went wrong.

The comedian stressed that emotional neglect and betrayal are both painful experiences, warning that one form of hurt should not be used to justify another.

“We have normalised choosing sides so much that we no longer ask what truly went wrong. Emotional neglect is painful. Betrayal is painful too. One hurt should not automatically become justification for another,” he said.

AY Makun explained that relationships are more likely to survive when both parties take responsibility rather than shifting blame or outsourcing accountability to public opinion.

“Maybe relationships would survive more if accountability was shared instead of outsourced,” he added.
