The 72-year-old actor made the revelation during an interview on the African A-List podcast, describing Akindele as a perfectionist who can require actors to repeat a scene several times before she is satisfied.

“Whenever Funke calls me for a job I am always scared, you can shoot a scene 15 times,” Kosoko said.

The veteran actor explained that Akindele’s attention to detail sometimes means scenes that have already been completed must be reshot because of seemingly minor issues.

According to Kosoko, the filmmaker could return to the set the following day and request a scene be filmed again after noticing details such as the plates used during production.

“She may come the following day thinking of shooting another scene, but then she will say, ‘We have to shoot those scenes again because of the plates they brought,’” he recalled.

Despite describing the experience as demanding, Kosoko praised Akindele for her exceptional dedication and work ethic.

“Funke is very hardworking, even if you are a man you can’t match her energy,” he said.
