Egbuson spoke on the Culture League podcast, where he explained that his demanding career has made it difficult to maintain the kind of multiple relationships often associated with his public image.

According to the actor, Nollywood has dominated most of his time over the past two to three years, leaving him with little energy or opportunity for several romantic relationships.

“A lot of people assume that I’m a womaniser, right? But I’m not,” Egbuson said.

He explained that his typical workday often involves spending long hours on set before returning home late at night, making it difficult to have the time or capacity for multiple women.

“In the past two, three years, Nollywood has taken over my life in a way that there’s no room, except you be the most unserious,” he said.

Egbuson compared his lifestyle with that of some of his friends, who he said manage to maintain relationships with several women despite their busy schedules.

“Some of my guys, we get like four girls, five girls, they follow talk. I’m like, how do you find the time?” he said.

The actor added that after returning from a full day on set, sometimes as late as 11pm, exhaustion leaves him with little interest in anything beyond resting.

“From being on set all day to getting back at 11 p.m., tired, I don’t have the capacity for that, so I’m not as in the streets as people may think I am,” he said.

Egbuson, however, said he enjoys his career and the attention that comes with it, even though his personal life is not as active as some people assume.

He also revealed that he has spent much of his recent life alone, saying his routine sometimes ends with him having a drink before going to bed.

“In reality, when I get back home sometimes, I’m taking a shot of Martell to just calm down when it’s time to sleep alone,” he said.

The actor further reflected on growing older and how that has changed his social and romantic experiences.

He noted that despite maintaining a youthful appearance, age inevitably affects how one navigates social circles and relationships.

“One thing you forget again is that the older you get, you’re no more as in the mix as you know,” Egbuson said.
