Barcelona summer clear-out De Jong exit plans emerge as club reportedly consider offloading five players in major squad overhaul

FC Barcelona are reportedly preparing for a significant summer overhaul, with Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong among five senior players linked with possible departures from the club.

De Jong Included in Barcelona Summer Clear-Out Plans reports suggest the Catalan giants are considering major changes to their squad after a season affected by injuries, inconsistency and financial pressure.

According to Spanish outlet MARCA, De Jong is at the top of a list that also includes Robert Lewandowski, Marcus Rashford, Andreas Christensen and Marc Casadó.

De Jong, who remains under contract until June 2029, has struggled with recurring fitness issues, missing multiple matches this season due to injury setbacks, including a lengthy spell on the sidelines caused by a hamstring problem.

Despite his importance in midfield, growing concerns over availability and his status as one of the club’s highest earners have reportedly cast doubt on his long-term future.

Elsewhere, Lewandowski is said to be approaching the final phase of his Barcelona spell, while Rashford’s loan move is expected to end without a permanent transfer following an underwhelming campaign.

Christensen has also faced prolonged absence due to a serious injury, while Casadó has reportedly fallen down the pecking order under manager Hansi Flick.
