The Police Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Habib, disclosed the development during a press briefing in Bauchi, stating that the operation was prompted by renewed security concerns in Gwana, Digare and Kafin Duguri communities.

Nafiu Habib said the Bauchi security deployment was carried out through coordinated joint operations involving the police, the military, the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and other security agencies.

According to Nafiu Habib, the collaborative effort, supported by the Bauchi State Government, is already yielding positive results in stabilising the affected areas.

“In recent days, there has been a resurgence of security concerns in Gwana, Digare, and Kafin Duguri,” Nafiu Habib said.

“Following a thorough security assessment, the Command, in collaboration with sister security agencies, has initiated a massive deployment of joint security personnel to the affected communities with a view to suppressing the activities of these criminal elements.”

The police spokesman noted that the border communities have historically faced security challenges due to infiltration by criminal elements from neighbouring states.

Despite reported panic in Mansur town, where some residents allegedly fled their homes over fears of attack, Nafiu Habib reassured the public that the situation remained under control.

“Despite recent incidents in neighbouring Gwana District, Mansur town remains unaffected, and there is no cause for alarm,” Nafiu Habib said.

He confirmed that enhanced weaponry and a reinforced security presence had been strategically positioned to prevent any breakdown of law and order, adding that operatives were working tirelessly to restore lasting peace.
