Bayern Munich confirm Kane contract extension talks as Harry Kane thrives in Germany and signals comfort with life in Munich

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl confirmed on Tuesday in Frankfurt that the club is in talks with England captain Harry Kane over a potential contract extension.

Max Eberl disclosed the development at a Bundesliga event, less than two years after Bayern Munich signed Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023.

Harry Kane joined the German champions on a four year contract valued at an initial 100 million euros and has since delivered a powerful impact.

The striker has scored 119 goals and recorded 30 assists in 126 appearances across all competitions for Bayern Munich.

Speaking on the discussions, Max Eberl said conversations were ongoing and acknowledged that a decision would eventually be required.

Harry Kane previously indicated openness to a long term stay in Germany. In October, the forward said his desire to return to the Premier League had reduced.

During the current season, Harry Kane has scored 34 goals in 30 matches under Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany.

Twenty one of those goals have come in 19 Bundesliga appearances as the striker chases Robert Lewandowski’s single season league record of 41 goals.

Harry Kane has also played a decisive role in Bayern Munich’s Champions League campaign, helping the club secure second place in the group standings with one match remaining.

Bayern Munich chief executive Jan Christian Dreesen said Harry Kane and his family are settled in Munich and expressed confidence in the relationship.

He added that the club sees no urgency, describing the situation as stable and built on mutual trust.
