Boko Haram Ngoshe abductees video shows 416 kidnapped residents in Borno, with group claiming victims are alive and safe

A Boko Haram faction identified as Jama’atu Ahlis-Sunna Lidda’Awati Wal-Jihad (JAS) has released a disturbing video showing 416 abducted residents of Ngoshe community in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, claiming the captives remain alive, healthy and unharmed.

Boko Haram Ngoshe abductees video reportedly features women, children and a few men, who were seen seated while being addressed by members of the armed group during the recording.

In the six-minute footage, a spokesperson for the group alleged that the video was produced following a request from the Borno South Youths Alliance (BOSYA), which it claimed has been acting as a mediator since the mass abduction.

The group further insisted that the abducted residents are being held safely, a claim that has deepened anxiety among families and residents awaiting their return.

Boko Haram abductees Ngoshe showing it’s video has intensified calls for urgent government intervention, with BOSYA confirming that 416 people were taken during the March 4 attack on the community.

According to the group, insurgents stormed Ngoshe village and abducted hundreds of residents in a coordinated assault that left the community devastated and displaced many survivors.

BOSYA has appealed to the Federal Government of Nigeria, international partners and humanitarian organisations to intensify efforts aimed at securing the safe release of the captives.

The incident adds to the long-running insecurity crisis in Nigeria’s North-East, where insurgent attacks and mass abductions continue to threaten civilian populations.
