Champions League knockout play-offs ended with dramatic results as eight teams join the Round of 16 draw, including PSG, Galatasaray, and Atalanta

The UEFA Champions League knockout phase play-offs concluded on Wednesday, finalising the last spots for the Round of 16.

Second-leg ties delivered drama, with comebacks, late penalties, and extra-time thrillers defining the fixtures.

In Italy, Atalanta beat Borussia Dortmund 4-1 in Bergamo, winning 4-3 on aggregate.

In Paris, Paris Saint-Germain drew 2-2 with Monaco but advanced 5-4 on aggregate.

Real Madrid overcame Benfica 2-1 in Madrid to win 3-1 on aggregate.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray edged Juventus 7-5 on aggregate after a 3-2 extra-time defeat in Turin.

Earlier fixtures included Atletico Madrid defeating Club Brugge 7-4 on aggregate, Bayer Leverkusen progressing 2-0 over Olympiacos, Bodo/Glimt stunning Inter Milan 5-2 on aggregate, and Newcastle United beating Qarabag 9-3 on aggregate.

The eight advancing teams — Atalanta, PSG, Real Madrid, Galatasaray, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Bodo/Glimt, and Newcastle — will join previously qualified clubs, including Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Barcelona, Chelsea, Sporting CP, and Manchester City, in the Round of 16 draw scheduled for Friday.
