Charly Boy electoral integrity concerns take center stage as the veteran entertainer urges Nigerians to focus on credible elections ahead of 2027, not petty distractions

Charly Boy Electoral Integrity has taken the spotlight as veteran entertainer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy or Area Fada, called on Nigerians to refocus national discourse ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Appearing on *Channels Television’s Morning Brief* on Tuesday, Charly Boy criticized the ongoing public distractions he believes are trivial and unproductive.

“I don’t know why they do the things they do, but it seems to me silly and petty,” he stated candidly. “Those are not the things we should be talking about right now. Our priority should be: in 2027, will our vote count?”

This compelling call comes amidst recent controversy after Lagos’ Bariga Local Council Development Area renamed the once-popular Charly Boy Bus Stop after indigenous rapper Olamide.
