Chiemka Okoronta has been jailed in the UK for the horrific rape of a 17-year-old girl in Bradford.

The postgraduate student’s actions shocked the local community and drew condemnation from the court.

The attack occurred after a night bus ended early in Leeds on March 25, leaving both the victim and Okoronta stranded.

He offered her a taxi ride but instead took her to his flat and assaulted her.

The judge described Chiemka Okoronta as a “dangerous sexual predator,” warning that his behaviour posed a serious threat to the public.

He will serve a prison sentence, after which he will be deported to Nigeria. Additionally, he will remain on the UK sexual offenders register for life.

The case has highlighted ongoing concerns about student safety and public transport vulnerabilities in the region.

Authorities praised the victim’s courage and stressed the importance of reporting suspicious behaviour promptly.
