The 41-year-old forward was forced off with less than 10 minutes remaining after signalling to the bench that he felt discomfort.

Cristiano Ronaldo appeared to struggle as he left the pitch and was later seen applying an ice pack to his leg while watching the closing stages from the sidelines.

Al Nassr manager Jorge Jesus confirmed that medical staff would assess the extent of the issue.

Jorge Jesus said Cristiano Ronaldo had suffered muscle fatigue and would undergo urgent tests to determine his condition.

The injury has heightened anxiety among Portugal supporters, with the World Cup just three months away.

Cristiano Ronaldo had earlier missed a penalty in the 12th minute after team-mate Mohamed Simakan was fouled.

The spot-kick was the 35th missed penalty of Cristiano Ronaldo’s career.

Despite that setback, the forward remains one of the most clinical finishers in football history.

Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 181 penalties from 216 attempts, missing 16.2 per cent of his spot-kicks.
