Former Arsenal midfielder Anders Limpar has advised Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo to consider retirement once he reaches the landmark of 1,000 career goals, warning that extending his playing career could risk diminishing his legacy.

The advice comes as the Portuguese superstar continues to play in Saudi Arabia with Al-Nassr, where he remains a decisive figure despite being 41 years old.

Ronaldo, who has not set a confirmed retirement date, previously indicated in an interview with broadcaster Piers Morgan that he expects to retire “soon,” while his current contract with Al-Nassr runs until 2027.

Speaking in an interview with NewBettingSites.uk, Anders Limpar praised Ronaldo’s longevity but questioned the value of continuing into Major League Soccer at his age.

Limpar said that while Ronaldo’s influence on global football remains unmatched, he believes the forward should prioritise preserving his legacy rather than extending his career into another league.
